The following is part science and part fiction. It is the story and inspiration I have created to inspire this Camero series of paintings. This story is continually unfolding as I paint.

These paintings are called Cameros. They are images of entities / specters that are created when Cern’s Large Hadron Collider smashes sub atomic particles.

The Large Hadron Collider is the most powerful particle accelerator in the world. It boosts particles, such as protons, which form all the matter we know. Accelerated to a speed close to that of light, they collide with other protons. These collisions produce Higgs Boson waves and new elements, such as quarks.

These elements physically exist in a Higgs Boson Field similar to a “Universe” of time just like the “Big Bang” of our Universe. Even though the epoch is infinitesimal from human measurements, it still is created. These “Universes” are the by-products of the smashing process like coffee grounds are the by-product of your espresso.

Enter the Camero. The Camero is a general name for beings that inhabit the LHC created “Universes” of unknown particles a by-product of particle smashing.
